The platform

Everything audit, tax, and investor reporting needs, reconciled in one place.

Built for the work an audit engagement, a tax filing, or an investor statement actually requires — not a portfolio tracker adapted after the fact.

Full transaction history the moment a credential is added, then kept current automatically — 20+ chains and 15+ exchanges, more on demand.

What did the portfolio look like six months ago?

Drag the slider. Every point reconstructs the exact holdings and USD value of a fully verified wallet or exchange as of that date — the actual on-chain state, not an interpolation.

Output

Detailed reports that read like a workpaper, not an export.

Position, Gain/Loss, Trade, or a combined Portfolio report — every figure traceable back to a synced, reconciled transaction, not rolled up into an opaque summary. PDF for the file, XLS when you need to work the numbers further.

  • Every transaction, not just period totals — type, symbol, amount, fee, and timestamp
  • Per-lot cost basis under FIFO, LIFO, HIFO, or average, down to the individual acquisition
  • Counterparty addresses and exchange order IDs, for when a figure needs tracing back
  • Price source disclosed per asset — no silently-estimated valuations

Who it's for

One platform for audit, tax, and investor teams.

Evidence, not screenshots.

Every balance an engagement team reports on is reconciled against the account's own live data before it ever reaches a workpaper — turning wallet and exchange verification from a manual, error-prone step into a reconciled, repeatable one.

For accounting & audit firms →
  • Data integrity checks flag any mismatch between synced and live balances automatically
  • Ownership verification proves a credential actually belongs to the client under review
  • One workspace per client, covering every wallet and exchange in the engagement

How it works

From credential to audit, tax, and investor reports, in four steps.

1Read-only

Add a wallet or exchange

Pick a chain or exchange and add the client's credential — a public address, or a read-only API key.

2Continuous

Sync runs automatically

Full transaction history is pulled in, then kept current on an ongoing basis — no manual re-imports.

3Automatic

Verify & reconcile

Ownership is verified and the synced balance is checked against the live balance, flagging any mismatch.

4On demand

Report, file, or share

Audit reports, IRS tax forms, or a live investor dashboard — exported as PDF, XLS, or CSV.

Security & trust

Built to be trusted with client accounts.

Audit firms, tax preparers, and investors all hand over account access. Every design decision here starts from keeping that access safe.

Read-only by default

Exchange credentials only ever need read-only API permissions. The platform never requests withdrawal or trading access.

Credentials encrypted at rest

API keys and secrets are encrypted in the database, never stored or logged in plain text.

Reconciliation-first

Every synced balance is checked against the account's own live data — discrepancies are surfaced, not assumed away.

Full activity trail

Every sync, verification, and report generated is logged and notified — a clear record of what happened and when.

Built by

Built by fund services people, for fund services work.

ChainLedger is built by aifundservices.com, designed around the work real audit, tax, and investor-reporting teams do — reconciled transaction history, defensible cost basis, and numbers a reviewer, a tax authority, and an investor can all rely on. Find it at www.thechainledger.com.

Questions

Things firms usually ask first.

Audit, tax, or investor reporting — if your question isn't here, we're happy to walk through it on a call.

Ask us directly

No. The same synced, reconciled ledger serves three jobs: audit evidence (integrity checks, ownership verification, point-in-time positions), tax (Gain/Loss, Form 8949, Schedule D, crypto income, and 1099-DA reconciliation), and investor reporting (the Investor Dashboard with NAV, realized and unrealized gain/loss, plus lending and staking reports).

No. Exchange credentials only ever need read-only API permissions — the platform never requests trading or withdrawal access, and never could execute either even if a key had it.

You choose FIFO, LIFO, HIFO, or average cost per report — it isn't locked to one methodology across the whole workspace. Internal transfers between a client's own wallets and exchanges are detected and excluded automatically so they aren't taxed as disposals.

Yes. Form 8949, Schedule D, and a crypto income schedule are generated straight from the same Gain/Loss engine as the reports, and a 1099-DA reconciliation checks what a broker reported against the platform's own numbers, so differences are explained before filing.

It's flagged immediately as a data-integrity mismatch, with the specific discrepancy, before it ever reaches a report or workpaper — not discovered later by a client or reviewer.

Yes — Time Travel reconstructs any fully-verified wallet or exchange's exact holdings and USD value as of any date and time you choose.

Both, but it's built firm-first: every client's wallets, exchanges, and reports live in one multi-client workspace, designed for firms running many engagements at once.

Fund administration is an active area of development. The reconciled position and activity data is already the foundation — dedicated export formats for a fund administrator's reporting cycle are on the roadmap. Get in touch if this is your use case.
